Helping Hands, Lasting Impact: Ms. Kim’s Story
For more than 30 years, Ms. Kim has called Cleme Manor home, but her impact reaches far beyond her front door. Through her daily volunteer work with Helping Hands, she has become a trusted and uplifting presence for families throughout the community.
Helping Hands provides structured after-school and summer programs for children and teens, creating a safe environment where young people can focus on educational goals, build social skills, and learn the value of community involvement. For Ms. Kim, supporting that mission is personal. Each day, she arrives ready to serve food, assist with activities, encourage students, and help create a welcoming space where children feel seen and supported. She also serves as a lead member of the Cleme Manor OPAC committee, extending her commitment to strengthening the community in even more ways. Whether she is helping children with daily routines, greeting parents, or working alongside staff and partners, Ms. Kim leads through quiet consistency and genuine care.
“I enjoy volunteering and helping others,” she says. “I enjoy being around people and learning new skills, like the nutritional value of the foods served to the children.”
Her story reflects the power of resident leadership. By investing her time and heart into Helping Hands, Ms. Kim is helping young people grow, families feel connected, and Cleme Manor continue to thrive. She is more than a resident—she is a role model and a cornerstone of her community.
